Mechanic's Rules

Post by Once and Future »

Here is a link to the kind of website that I love, but am having more trouble finding. It is maintained by a plumber who enjoys restoring plumbing fixtures 99.9% of plumbers say to throw away. Only some of his advice applies to us; well, you know, that is not true. MOST of his advice applies to us, but only a little of it is specific. Such as tips regarding loosening brass on brass pieces.

As an example of a mechanic's rule that does apply to everything, he states: "Never break a rule you do not fully understand." That is flawless advice from the highest level of expertise, expressed in a very concise manner.
