Re: IMPORTANT: >79' Discharge Rules
Did a 3 year exemption go forward today on this issue? It looks that way from reviewing and sending a message to Lisa Murkowski.

Re: Pressure Bleeding
I recall on the pressure, Salty saying using a waterpressure like an old guy peeing applied to the fish spine process. I help by pushing the side vein blood out using a rubbermaid small sqeegy.

Re: More than one boat same permit
A call to Comm fish is great but when dealing with the law call your local wild life trooper to verify area that are opened especially . 11 A is closed to commercial trolling, so if you are dude commercial charting fishing you and your "deck hand" will be fined.

Re: USMC Veteran prospect to HT SE Alaska
Glad to help....the boat owner may have the davits and hand gurdies. A frames and poles, stabies are not not hard to find. There is also alot of info on rigging something that is practically fishing ready on this site or laying around boat yards in any SE village/town. Heck, you buy this boat, I wil...

Excellent post Crawfish and a honorable ode to your mentor. I lost mine 15 years ago, but still can see his smile especially at evening change of light with the springs on both sides rattling, encouraging me to get my own boat and permits and seeing his grandson stepping up and learning our work. Th...

Re: Bottom Work - Paint Removal
If you want to go old school, use a 1.5 metal putty knife after you have power washed the bottom and it is dry. Be careful scrapping. Wash again and then follow it up with fine wet sand paper on a hand sanding block. rinse, you will be real close to the gel coat but it should be real smooth for a fr...

Re: Interesting Article
Interesting article, are we really catching Canadian pinks? The take away for me is politically there is much more money for global warming than methods that would seemingly promote fish production and a healthy ocean.

Re: Favorite Meals and Recipes on the Troller
Fillet of cod, dusky or yelloweye rock fish, shark bit salmon in covered casserole dish with a pinch of salt, lemon pepper and a slash of Yoshida sweet soy sauce, couple red potatoes and carrots diced baked in oil stove. I am such a low liner yet that for most of the time I have a slapper sandwich. ...

That is awesome Bill. A guy by the last name of Reid in Juneau spent a few years trolling out of a stoutly rigged 26 Olympic. He could be found fishing anywhere from Petersburg to Cape Cross. Hope the fish "hang on like grapes" this season for you! Dan

It is a high abundance year.. fishing should be good most places. Is it worth it? depends on the price and how dialed in you are. I will PM you, I don't want the code group name "Rubber Lips #2"

Kelper, are those the boats Fireweed lodge is selling? If so Bill those Olympic Resorter models 22 and 24 ft would make a dandy HT. Since your basic weekend warrior you'll need a faster boat.

The machine marked 2 fathom scandia wire seems to come in and go out smoother than hand marked. I have not used hand marked in years.
