Ok, another "newby" looking for float bags. Didn't see any current posts about where to get them. Looking for any help,

without braking the bank! Thanks!

I just contracted to have a set of aluminum bow poles built. I figure in less than five years they will pay for themselves just by reducing the outlay for float bags. Plus they catch better and my wife doesn't have to wrestle with float bags.

Someone told me they are more fun than tattle tells too. Is there someone on here with bowpoles who can explain the advantages and disadvantages?

Corking is a term associated with the net fisheries, ie setting your net right in front of the other guys net. It is not a term associated with the troll fishery since we do not use corks or nets.

The bow pole quote was for about $1500.00 as I remember but did not include the installation of the blocks, haul up ropes etc. which he will help me with. 907-738-1321 for the welder/fabricator.

Poor mans float

take an egg shaped bouy of sufficient size to float the lead.

place a large swivel on the line and tie two wire snaps to it.

works good for coho not so good for spooky kings.
