Have those been hot tanked, or did some hillbilly go at them with a wire brush?

Marshal, why with the hostility again towards these good folks offering some very nice rebuilt easthopes????
Good luck getting a set that nice in Alaska!
Forgive my ignorance but what difference does it make if they are "hot tanked"? They're going to be green in a couple of weeks anyway. I have had many discussions with Hotspot about numerous fishing topics including the gurdies he and his friend rebuild in canada. If I had a way to conveniently get to BC and get them up to AK, I would buy them in a heartbeat. From the photos all of the mechanical aspects of the gurdies look perfect in every way and they will more than likely be fine machinery to last decades of abuse. Who cares how they were polished?

Hot tanking requires a complete tear down and speaks to a total and professional rebuild. No rubber or grease survives. If they weren't hot tanked you run the risk of buying something with old worn out components that has only gotten a face lift.
Almost nobody has hot tanks anymore. The EPA has made having one a total pain in the ass. It's all shot blast now. Which according to most motorheads gets things as clean or cleaner, however, I've heard things with tight tolerances sometimes don't fare well.

Bump. Located in Vancouver , BC area...probably easy to get them shipped up to Alaska with a friend of yours this spring. Just attach the hydraulic hoses and your are in business....and happy and problem free for years!
