these have been in storage for a few years. What are they? Kolstrands? I can’t find any markings.

What’re they worth? The shafts turn w/ effort and everything seems to work fine.

thanks, paul

and they're not Hasbras. Don't know what a Symplex (Simplex?) looks like.

anybody w/ Kolstrands, do they say so on them?

They're not Kolstrands, I've seen a few of those around and I don't know what they are either.

Howdy I have 4 sets of gurdies that pretty much look exactly the same as those posted . My guess is Kolstrands. I know they were making blank spools with no casting names for a while . I have had great luck with mine , they are kind of a dime a dozen but theyare good work horses. The deer horn handles is unique touch.

They look the same kind of Kolstrands that are on my boat just without the stamping.

thanks for all the replies. From everything I've looked at I'm almost positive these are Kolstrands. For Sale - I'll post a separate ad.

Those are Kolstrand gurdies with the lovejoy couplings on the opposite end. Usually the motors are on the front of the gurdy toward the wheelhouse from the "pit".

One other thing, the gurdies are pre-1953 withoout any names cast into the forward end of the spools.
