Linda is the first woman named as a National Fisherman "Highliner" on the Pacific Coast. I echo Dale's comment. Joel and Linda are two of the most dedicated individuals I know when it comes to conserving and sustaining our fishery resources. I am planning to be at their induction dinner.

Correction,
Linda Behnken is the third woman named as a National Fisherman Highliner and the second on the Pacific Coast. Snooks Moore of Homer was the first.

Trollers always have room to whine. That is part of the romance of trolling, effectively whining while you are knee deep in fish. Ralph called me on 77 and whined for about an hour one time about the lack of fish, the character of the weather, and the deteriorating quality of troll wire before signing off. He called me back after another hour on our scrambled radio channel and told me he had just pulled 44 kings off the gear.
