ADFG estimates we will take all of the troll quota.

Any hope for an extension on the season this year? I don't know how the overall coho catch has been to date, but seems better than last year. I'm hoping for one, but maybe too early to know yet??

Yep, way too early to tell yet. The run projection was looking bigger a little earlier in Aug than it was last week, but still a nice one. Not sure what the weekend data might have done to that estimate, but suspect the numbers weren't too revealing of anything, given the weather. I'll be spreading the word later in the month if it looks like an extension is going to occur beyond Sept 20. ATA board members to stay in touch with on the southend would be the Sarah E and the C'est la Vie, and maybe the Karolee, since I always try to track them down soon as I know, so they can give a shout out to the fleet.
It would be very helpful if folks would call in that last week and a half so that we can have a good handle on what you're seeing on the grounds. Give the ATA office a call - leave a cell number and I'll call you back ASAP. Or, feel free to tell the answering service folks how many fish you have on board, for how many days, and where you've been fishing - leave a number in case I need to clarify. Much more than that and you'll overwhelm the operators... they're great - but in New Orleans.=) I share information on a daily basis with Brian and Pattie at ADFG.
