Time for a new life raft. Anyone care to offer a brand recommendation? I'd rather buy one in Alaska if the difference in price versus Seattle isn't too crazy.

Just spoke to the company that repacks my life raft. They sell all makes for various situations. There recommendation is the Viking models for commercial uses. Natural rubber versus polyurethane tubes. Polyurethane is not as rugged as rubber. Bigger stability bags.
Two recommendations come to mind, buy 2-man larger than all members which includes you and your crew; second keep it dry, prevent water from entering the canister. Cover it with a breathable canvas (not a plastic bag) when not in use. Better yet put it in the house where it is dry and harder for sticky fingers to steal it.
Purchase your life raft from the same people that will repack your life raft.
