I am considering installing a troll cockpit in a wood boat, approximately 12' beam, with a timbered stern, flat transom. I understand that there are many considerations, but assuming no tanks to move and all other wood is sound, is this a complex procedure running many hours and lots of labor costs? Or is it something that most professional shipwrights can do in good time? (I am NOT considering doing this myself.) If anyone has experience or may know something about this, I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
By the way, it is already a commercial fishing vessel with a flat aft deck and not a stepped poop-deck.

I cut in mine and framed it in and came out like it had always been that way Send me some pictures of the stern area, side views, back and top, If you can. It really wasn't that tough and I had never done anything like that before. You might be surprised :o that this is something you can do yourself and save a ton of money. :D
