No. It's so spread out, 7 locations, and they have folks from all over the place. AZ, MT, FL, ID, BC, RI, and Scotland. No room for a local fisherman/writer like me unless I . . . unless I what.
But I'm glad you're coming down for it. I'll buy lunch for you and yours at the Harbor Lights here in Ilwaco Saturday.

Tired of the Alaska Board of Fisheries. Need some music and poetry. A few razor clams might be nice too. My mother, Marilyn Jordan George, loved fisher poets.

Revise that, 25% wins. I have a show with my surf band Friday, and I'm playing at a Johnny Cash
tribute night Saturday. Should have checked my callendar before posting. Would love to
have planned on it. May still try to get down there on Sun as I still have to grab velvet drive
out of boat for a lookover by shop before re-installing with new engine.

dear salty,
During a visit to some friends in Petersburg, my wife was given a copy of your mothers book "Alaskan Dream".
About a week later I picked it up during a lunch break and didn't put it down until I finished it three days later. Wow, what a read!
This winter has been longer than some and this book really touched me. As my wife and I wait for the spring, I feel the urge to fish even now, as I sand floors and and grout tile. This book is a must read for anyone who is even thinking of fishing with their wife, or otherwise.

Squarehead,
Thank you for the kind comments. I will forward them to my mother who is doing well in a nursing home in Lewiston, Idaho. She was a frequent participant in Fisher Poets in Astoria. I am planning to go over Friday afternoon and evening to hear the poets and perhaps be inspired in my writing and photography. Saturday morning I am going clam digging.
I am here in Monmouth, Oregon meeting the next generation, Keller Charles Jordan. He is Marilyn's first great grandson. He is three weeks old and very healthy. He has big hands and a huge chest so if he decides to be a fisherman it looks like he will have the heart and hands for it.
My son Karl, Marilyn's grandson, is taking his 44 foot troller north as we speak through Douglas Channel, BC toward Sitka. He had to hold up yesterday in Klemtu due to the 40 knot Nor easter. Looks like a weather window today and tomorrow for him to get across Dixon Entrance.
I sat behind Doug Rhodes who is scheduled to read some of his poetry about gillneting and trolling in SE Alaska. Look forward to seeing some you in Astoria and tipping a few to my mothers generation who sure left us a lot to work with in SE Alaska.

I am here in Astoria enjoying myself greatly. Saw three movies, heard lots of good poetry, good reading and some good company. Visited with Frank Caldwell and Smitty for a while. Bought Frank's latest book.
Going clamming in the morning. Then maybe over to Ilwaco for lunch with tacorajim.
I am going to have to come back. This is great!!

Tacorajim,
Sorry about standing you up. The site was down yesterday and brain fried me couldn't remember the place we were supposed to meet. Next year and I will buy.
