I just found this forum and have really enjoyed reading the posts. I am a former Oregon dory fisherman and about 10 years ago created a website about dories in Oregon with sections devoted to commercial salmon fishing. My years fishing (77-91) were some of the best experiences of my life and I'm happy there are people carrying on the industry. Here is the link to my site, the Dory Page. Enjoy!

Cool page Ckdory. Thanks for the stories and pics. We run a very similar skiff up here, usually made of fiberglass or aluminum, for gillnetting and trolling. Very often they see heavy surf action, so we can sure relate. Quite a history behind the westcoast dory fishery, I hope to hear lots more about it. Thanks.

Ckdory,

What a great page, hope you can get some video up of launching off the beach.

I think a lot of guys would find that action great to watch. When I was a kid

we would go down and watch them launch off the beach into the surf. In fact,

my grandfather actually bought a lot at pacific city and built a garage just

for his dory. A bit much I suppose as my mom used to chide him about it

whenever he would be reluctant in spending some money on something

for her or my grandmother. That was a long time ago. Anyway,

great page!
