I have been checking out this site for a few weeks now and finally became a member. I am a young fisherman from Morro Bay, Ca. who has had a break from it for a couple of years now. I was a salmon troller for my whole life and then I joined the Army. Well my time is almost up and I am really looking forward to getting back on the water. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and tell you that I think this is a great site.

Sure thing Almostfree, welcome to the forum. We have plenty of stories on here from Alaska, but not so much from down your way, be nice to hear about how other guys fisheries work. Darn shame how things have panned out for the California crew here lately, I sure hope that takes a turn for the better in the coming seasons. if not, better you should look for a permit further North where the odds are a little better.
