Hi all,

I'm new to this board, just wanted to say hello, and ask you to point your browsers towards [url=http://www.salmonaid.org][url]http://www.salmonaid.orgwhen you get a minute (it'll probably take more than a minute to see what we're doing ...).

SalmonAid has brought together the largest-ever coalition of salmon supporters our coast has seen, 36 organizations and growing. Commercial fishermen, sportfishermen, tribal fishermen, environmental organizations, chefs and rock&roll stars work together to send one message to the general public and to DC: Protect & Restore our Wild Salmon Runs!

This year's SalmonAid Festival wil take place on June 20/21 at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA.

Thanks for your time reading, hope to see you there,

Mike ~ ~ ~ <*)((((((<><

I was just reading a book on fishing and the guy had a great line about how he had come to be recognized as an expert fly fisherman and he realized it was because of his writing. Lots of the guys he knew could fish rings around him. Caught more fish, bigger fish, etc. than he ever could. But, because he was a writer, and occasionally wrote about fly fishing, he got the recognition while lots better fishermen were cloaked in anonymity.

I think almost anyone of those guys on the SPC Board would qualify as a highliner and they could promote their product too. You ought to invite them. One of those guys, Tom Fisher, is often on here under the handle of Carol W. Another one, Alan Anderson, was just pictured landing a nice King on the front of one of our fishing magazines and labeled as a "highliner". Vince Cameron, the author of "We All Choke the Same Herring" was a legendary producer on his boat the "Elusive".

Good thing I am still bigger than any of the above mentioned or they would beat me to a pulp.

Highliner? We need a headliner... lol. If you happen to know any rock&roll stars who would donate their performances, let me know.

SPC is working with us already and we're glad to have them help out. We're also talking to ASMI, and few few phone calls to them from you guys would probably help.

If any of your fishing organizations would like to participate, please send me an email to mike@sbcsfa.com or info@salmonaid.org

Just in case you're wondering who this CaptainMike guy is... click the links below:

President, Small Boat Commercial Salmon Fishermen's Association www.sbcsfa.com

Director, Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations www.pcffa.org

Owner Hudson Fish Company www.hudsonfish.com

Executive Director, SalmonAid Foundation www.salmonaid.org

Not the only troller along our coast who has the blues, but quite possibly the only one who performs them on stage and makes records about 'em... http://www.hudsonfish.com/cash.html

(and definitely not a highliner....though I've been known to catch a few here & there)

Would have loved to go, but unfortunately found out about it too late - maybe next year.
