When things go bad on the water they do so fast and big.

wow, that went quick, to think that happened on a nice, calm day. was that a really old boat or what?
I've heard rumors of what happened, but I don't know if they are true or not.
The boat had not been on the actual ocean in years, and was overloaded so that the boat was very low in the water.
One person said the deck was nearly awash while it was still tied to the dock.
I think the theory I heard most was that water came in through the seems of planks that had not been exposed to the water in a long time and the cotton was probably dried out, letting lots of water flood into the stern of the boat. By the time the water was noticed, it was coming in too fast to save the boat.

my wife and i where fishing just south of the sinking and heard it on the radio. I have to admit that the video almost brought a tear to my eye especially the part about looking out for each other. I have lost family members at sea, and I don't really like to watch movies about sinkings. having said that, it was a very compelling video.
