Does anyone care to estimate what the final coho settlement price will be? Are there any similar years to compare to?
I've heard the coop does better when the coho's are large, such as this year.

One of my young partners who is pretty connected and pretty good at estimating price tells me he would be surprised if the co-op ended up less than $2.50 for 5 up coho. He is thinking $2.75 before it all settles out. I see $2.20 being offered here now. I just sold a few round chums for $.80 per lb. A 9.7 average wgt. made even a couple worth something.
Supposed to blow 35 here today but hasn't arrived yet. The guys toughing it out are no doubt doing well. I fished until 12:30 pm today for 3 chums, 1 coho, and 6 humpies. Could not stand it any longer and came in and took the afternoon off.
Rumors are circulating that I caught a bunch of chums yesterday. Apparently some charter operators observed me pull a couple of lines with the only fish we had all day on them. Unbelievable how fast the numbers grow. Then unload a few bags full mostly of ice at the hoist facing the harbor and the rumor has visible confirmation. So, I don't need to go check dog patch for a few days. Plenty of others will be wondering where I and the fish are.
I am heading north toward the "rumored" bite in Cross Sound.
That sounds like what we were hoping for. $3.00 would be great but I'd have no complaints with $2.75. :D With 1.4 million pounds left to catch this could be a very profitable coho season if we can land on them for awhile.
LOL. That's really funny. We fished in Cross Sound today and ended up on the hook before noon. We heard the bite was south you but no one could get there because of the weather
