Looking to get some info on how that typically works. How does the person using the boat end up paying or compensating the boat's owner. Any info/insight would be mucho appreciated.

I'm currently leasing my boat for 40% of the gross proceeds. So if they gross $10k, I'd get $4k.

I don't know about where you sell fish, but some processors will make the deduction for you right out of the delivery check. Keeps everybody on the up and up, and makes it easy for taxes.

Do they get to use your trolling license for that 40% or would they use their own? What about insurance? Do you put them on your policy or make them get some sort of coverage themselves. I'm assuming that they cover their own diesel too?

Thanks for the info...I really appreciate it.

They have their own license (power) and pay for all expenses including fuel.

I have leased trollers in the 80s and this is what we did 331/3% to you 331/3% to owner 331/3% to with the boat. Boats share paid the expenses, excluding any major boat repairs which was the owners expense. It worked out pretty well.

Yea, I did it last year. I leased the Gothic for 30%, permit and boat. Hell of a deal. The owner is responsible for all repairs unless your negligence is figured. You pay the fuel. Hope ya, find the fish!!! Tyler
