Workshop on Basic Net Construction and Mending
October 20 and 21, 2014, 9am-5pm, Juneau
Course Registration Fee (AFS student/AFS member/non-member):
$250/$275/$325 (if registration on/before Oct. 3rd ) or $275/$325/ $375 (if registration after Oct. 3rd )
A basic introduction to commercial or scientific fish-net handling, construction, and repair. Students will receive instruction in elementary cutting out (trimming) around a hole, loading an appropriate-sized needle, tying in with mending twine, mending mesh-for-mesh, tying out, and several basic knots.
