Drill Conductor Class in Ketchikan

AMSEA is conducting a Drill Conductor workshop in Ketchikan on February 26 & 27. The workshop will be taught at the University of Alaska Southeast in the Hamilton Building, 600 Stedman Street, Room 101. The schedule is 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on 2/26 and 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM on 2/27.



Course instructor, Dug Jensen, will cover:



• Cold water survival skills

• EPIRBs, flares, and maydays

• Man overboard recovery

• Fire fighting

• Immersion suits and PFDs

• Emergency drills

• Helicopter rescue

• Life rafts

• Abandon ship procedures

• In-the-water practice session



This course is USCG-accepted, open to all mariners, and recommended for captains and crew serving on any commercial vessel. The course meets the training requirements for commercial fishermen operating on documented vessels beyond the federal boundary line.
