Please help me understand how the ADFG stats are read. Lets take week 34 for example. If you look at the line graph for Coho per day it shows about 110 a day average but when you take their numbers of 215,605 coho divided by 634 permits you have like 50 a day average? Obviously I just dont understand! Dont know a whole lot of trollers and trying to figure if I was getting put to shame all summer or doing decent.

Maybe half the permits were targeting chums? I dunno.

Thanks Kelper but if you get a chance take a look at what I mean if you have not already its probably simpler than I am making it. I see what your saying but it still shows two different outcomes when it should be the same?

I see where you get the 50 a day. You took the total amount of cohos, divided it by the amount of boats, and then divided it by 7, to get 48 cohos?

Here is my wild guess:

The 634 is the total permits fished that week. It does not specify how many days per week that permit fished. They could be taking the days fished (you report it when you sell), and dividing 215,605 by the amount of total days fished by those trollers. A handtroller might fish on saturday, so he fished 1 day. Another troller might have reported he fished 5 days that week. Another 3. Etc.

So, basically 110x=215,605 X being the number of fishing days. The troll fleet put in 1960 "effort days" in that week.
