I've got some used gear I want to clean up, mainly salt build up and a little green surface patina on swivels for some older spoons and flashers that are in otherwise great shape. Maybe it doesn't matter but I figured I should clean them up and lubricate to prevent/slow any corrosion. Has anyone used "salt-away" or should I just stick with soap and water. How about a little WD40? Does hydrotone work for cleaning of just for corrosion prevention?
Any other gear cleaning products/tips appreciated.
Thanks

I have been using a solution of 50/50 vinegar and water to remove all that kind of stuff from spoons and snaps all winter. Works great but you want to use latex gloves.
