Just wanted to say how much I enjoy this site, seen the Gold Dust on Craigs list and the link here. I'm a sometimes commercial Fisherman sometimes charter fisherman and sometimes Horseshoer, that wants to get into the commercial end. Anyhow, I am sure I will be here often as things are so frozen here in Homer that I can't get out and get a few Winter Kings.

Welcome to the site Tom, and thank you for your compliment. I hope we can get some information about commercial fishing flowing here, because there doesn't seem to be much information available anywhere else. :D
Thanks for the welcome. There is not alot about Commercial Fishing and even less about Commercial Trolling. I am not on a commercial boat all the time although when I am it is with my neighbor on a Seiner. He does Salmon in PWS and Herring in BB, Of course if I had it my way I would be power trolling down your way which is my goal. Need to get rid of my Charter boat first which is a 25' Lobster Hull from Maine. Anyhow Thanks Again.

Hi Jon! Wanted to add my compliments for starting this site and offer assistance to you and those who visit. I'll check back now and then, but also welcome email from you if there are specific topics being discussed where I can help round out the details. Timely communication is an ongoing source frustration, particularly in light of the many issues confronting the fleet and the sensitive nature of some information as an issue is in play. Of course, lack of staffing doesn't help, either. Many thanks for helping to fill the gaps! Dale Kelley, Alaska Trollers Association

Great site, I've looked at for a couple days now and enjoyed it. I'm looking for something new to do job wise and considering trolling so I'm learning all I can about it, thank you all for your input.
