I just sent in the paperwork to the State loan folks in Juneau for a refinance of my loan,it dropped my payment about 800.00.The women I talked with at Div.of Economic Developement suggested it ,saying its only 2 pages and 100.00 to the State.With interest rates this low it might be worth a look at.

I just took out a state loan last May and ended up with an interest rate of 5.5%. A good time to borrow money if you're going to.

Thanks a ton!! I am getting that paperwork done up as soon as I get home from my vacation. I wish it had been that way a half dozen payments ago.

As of Jan 1st, the interest rate for commercial fishing loans is 5.25%

The state also has a pay-on-time program where they will drop your interest rate by 1% after the first year. My payments dropped by about $500 when my loans went from 5.5 to 4.5. Something to look into for anyone with a state loan.
