Hello all,

I have a little something I think might be of interest to some here. Before this season started I had a chance to talk quite a bit with a member here and between the two of us we came up with a new take on the Salmon Hootchies or Bugs that are currently being used.

I am currently looking for opinions and possible interest only, I am not offering these for sale at this time. If the demand becomes great enough for me to risk getting a bunch of these I will find a way to make them available.

A little background on me, Washington State born and raised, owner of a Tackle company but its generally been aimed at freshwater sport fishing. I am a one man operation in a garage.

Without making this a terribly long post here are some things that are better about this project.

All silicone construction. Will not fade due to sun or heat. will not shrink. uneffected by saltwater. uneffected by cold water. will stretch long before tearing, has tested to be very durable. will not hold foul scents. can be washed and used over and over if scented by design. will easily stretch over a swivel if you decide to rig that way. Slides easily when wet over leader if rigged without a swivel.

Best of all, I get them from an American Company and I will ship them from Vancouver Washington. No connection to China, short of my dinner the other night.

We have a guy in SE making similar out of what looks like the same material. He is selling direct and Murray Pacific in Sitka carries his product.

My opinion is that lure materials and design is evolving at such an incredible rate that even some of us old timers with thousands of lures are having to pay attention and adapt.

In the SE Alaska chum troll fishery we are still learning what each stock prefers. I used bare hooks or one of two bugs for nearly 20 years. This year I was forced to create a whole new type of bug using different type of materials to get them biting.

So, there may be interest in your product. I am in the NW next week, perhaps we can visit.

Thank you Salty, the company I get these from has the construction process patented and the durability is second to none. I would be able to get sizes from 1.5 long to 14 inch...I specified this color combo with the help of Gumpucky here. I woul dbe able to get just about any color combo one can imagine, the range really is amazing for shades, glitters, glow etc...in fact the heads of these glow.

I would be happy to talk with you about it, let me know!!
