hi all have a question about setting up hydraulics for a set of 2 spool bronze gurdys.I have stainless bases that I have isolated very well and now Im wondering if I need to isolate the hoses as they are connected to the pump which is grounded ect... talked to kal at kolstrand and was told hyd. hose is not available without wire reinforcing anymore or at least he doesent use it anymore with his new style of gurdy.any thoughts or suggestions of availiabilty much appreciated. brian

You're looking for non-conductive hydraulic hose, which is used fairly often on boom trucks & fork lifts. The local hydraulics place has it. 1-foot sections should do the trick to isolate your gurdies and you can run standard the rest of the way.

Has anyone ever tried using plastic lovejoys or anything to isolate the gurdies from the motor ( I am sure electricity is made by the fluid going through the motor).

I use alloy lovejoys with nylon /plastic 'spiders' . my spools are synthetic so that's probably a bit different
