I use to troll in Wa/AK when I was younger. Some of the best times of my life. Now my oldest son Chris is ready and anxious to give it a try.

He has been fishing with me since before he could walk. Chris is a 17 year old sophomore at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma. He maintains a 3.9 GPA in honors and AP classes and enjoys math and science the most. He played football and current participates in Track and Cross Country. He is also a member of the schools Marine Chemistry Unit. Chris loves the water, boats and fishing. He is hard working and self-motivated. He salmon trolled with Geoff Labon last summer on the Halmia and Geoff could not have been more pleased with him. Geoff is currently working to find him a job on a troller in Alaska but the right opportunity has not presented itself. Part of the issue is that he is in school until mid-June and most guys are looking or someone earlier in the spring.

He is open to any kind of fishery, troll, gillnet, seine, etc.and has some troll experience but has never netted. He has never been seasick and I have had him in some nasty water. I have no doubt in his ability to pick anything up quickly. As we talked it has to be the right situation, boat, skipper etc. Safety is most important but also in must be a positive environment with a skipper that will look out for him and mentor him. In the end it needs to be fun, relatively safe and adventuresome. He loves to work hard. The money is nice but that is secondary to in being the right gig. We have never had any issue with drugs or alcohol and prefer to keep it that way.

School ends on June 13th and he would be immediately available to work. Also he would be available the week of April 9th – 14th during spring break for boat prep work.

I have included a picture of a 36lb he caught down at Spike two years ago.

Thanks Don
