As far as I know, there is not an app that has the high resolution charts built in. There are a few navigation packages that will let you import custom charts.

Alaska Longline Fisherman Association is having a meeting on the 19th of January in SItka. ALFA's Fisheries Conservation Network has been building some pretty impressive charts from the best available data sources. The charts are being presented at the meeting. It is an open meeting. ALFA is always looking for new members. I will post more details about the location and time when it is finalized.

There is information about ALFA and the FCN at [url=http://www.alfafish.org][url]http://www.alfafish.org

That is beautiful. While the charts looks mostly useful for bottom fishermen, I can see a lot of use for trollers. You can better understand the flow of water, the natural nooks and crannies that a wily king salmon might hide in, and probably save yourself some lead to boot. Are these charts going to be available to the general public, or do you have to be a ALFA member to acquire them?

ALFA is providing these charts to ALFA members who join the Fisheries Conservation Network. ALFA is actively looking for new members. Please join ALFA and enjoy the charts. You can join online and find contact information at [url=www.alfafish.org/][url=http://www.alfafish.org]www.alfafish.org]

I have to say something here; Katlian your following statement Is a "litle" misleading....

There Is an Investmet to be made by the new ALFA memberships before aquiring the accumulation of shared Bathy Chart data from ALFA members....for example; besides annual dues the 3D Bathy Chart unlock code must be purchased from Nobeltec. ALFA,graciously refunds a majority of that Investment upon membership. Simple enough, but still there Is an Investment of time & diesel to aquire 3D Bathy data of your own, to bring to the table so-to-speak & contribute to the cause or data pool belonging exclusively to ALFA & It's members, before aquiring your own set. And I will say @ this point I agree with ALFA's protocol. Avoiding maybe any Goldiggers that may simply want the neat charts without any further contribution beyond the dues & Nobeltec upgrade....Katlian , this Is written out of respect for you & ALFA, Of which I am a new member & thankfull for the opportunity & will willfully play by the rules to aquire Bathy Data aquired by It's Invested members. To any potential new members, I strongly advise membership. We may be of varied fisheries, but we definately have a common cause...ALFA has high Integrity for our political cause.

I did not realize you had to gather data and share it before you had access to Alfa data. But then I came into the program with a lot of data. I don't long

Line but it would seem to me that using this technology could dramaticall reduce bycatch and loss of gear.
