So I'm going to throw a crazy question out in hopes of getting a favorable response. I have dreamed about commercial trolling for the past 4 years, but have never actually been. After hitting the "ripe ole age" of 40 I'v decided that if I'm going to give it a try I should get around to it. Trying to be smart about it I thought it would be a good idea to go out on one for a trip, to see if it's something I want to continue to pursue. I have spent a great deal of time on the water sport fishing, but never several days in a row. I'm willing to fly into where ever I need to meet someone, and pay for food and any insurance costs that may be associated with my presence on board. I'm not lookng to learn everything in one trip, but want to see what it's like to troll, and what it's like to spend several days on the water before continuing on. I want to chase my dream, but I also want to be smart about it, and this is the best idea I've come up with so far.
I'm not looking for a whole summer (I can't take that amount of time off from my current job) but can take a couple of weeks. I'd be happy to help with anything that needs to be done (cooking, cleaning etc) to do what ever I can to help, without getting in the way.
Any thoughs? Or any takers?
Thanks,
Joe Cammack

You should get a deckhand job on a troller. Some boats would only require a little over 2 month commitment.
