Contrary to popular rumor, the Chinook fishery will NOT be extended.

Kings will close at 11:59pm TONIGHT - Wed. 8/17

Looking at the fish and game website.. it looks like trollers were shorted about 20,000 kings. As if most didn't know that would happen.

at approx. 14lb avg @ $3.50 lb. that shorts trollers over... ONE MILLION DOLLARS !!! and during a year of high fuel prices and inflating prices on just about everything.

Hi All:

We definitely caught the August quota and our entire troll Chinook allocation. See the post on this site entitled Re: SE Ak Trollers left way short of king salmon quota for a recap of the current Chinook numbers.

Hope everyone's getting a few of these late-in-the-year coho!
