Flies - How to store

I have been using grand slam bucktails behind flashers since last year. I like them but how do you guys store them? I was pre rigging them and had them in the plastic lure folders that look like wallet of zip lock bags. After i was done I would rinse with fresh water but apparently didn't let them dry all the way. Even though I left the ziplock bags open, a few times they went in little wet and now they smelled a little like mildew. Do I just wash them with joy and dry? What's the best way to care for/store them so they will last longer.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm not familiar with those lures, so I may be off base, but here's my idea. With larger lures (Albacore Hootchies for example), I store them fully rigged on leaders on a piece of foam pipe insulation. I tuck the end of the leader into the slit, wrap it around the foam roll until I get to the hook, then hook into the foam. This makes them easily accessible and lets them dry.

Thats how the river jet sledders store their leaders. The ones witht he corkies already attached and made with egg loops. I hadnt thought of that one for my use. Not bad!! thanks.

PS. Grand Slam bucktails look alot like other coho flies youve seen in BC. I wrote the company via email but they may not be in business anymore. Their 4inch green fly has been a coho knockout for me.
