I'm trying to decide between Nobeltec or Max Sea. The choices are bewildering. Anyone have any comments or input? Thanks

Interesting evolution in the bottom mapping and 3D visualization software. Furuno now owns both MaxSea US and Nobeltec. They are developing a times zero platform that will incorporate a lot but I don't know any of the details.
I just talked to a friend who put a $60,000 dollar sonar and bottom mapping program on his vessel and tested it this week. He is real excited because it also records bottom type which should be good for longlining and crabbing.
It appears to me that the most important element in successful use of whatever program you invest in is good partner(s) who also own the same technology so you can share data and help troubleshoot problems. Also really pays to have local support people who can also help you with the computer(s) and logistics.
Current Navigation in Sitka is our local electronics guru. I would ask him before I invested.
