The Alaska Fish and Game Department says the statewide commercial salmon harvest forecast for 2011 fisheries is 203 million salmon of all species.
That would make the year the fifth largest total harvest, the fourth highest pink salmon harvest, and the fifth largest chum harvest since Alaska became a state and took over management of its fisheries in 1960.
The forecast calls for 113.7 million pinks, 19.2 million chums, 45.1 million sockeye and 4.7 million coho salmon.
The statewide Chinook forecast is not yet available since the Southeast Alaska quota is set under terms of the Pacific Salmon Treaty.
That figure won't be released by the Pacific Salmon Commission until late this month or early April.
