Tacorajim ( Jim Shannon) passed away. Last week when I was down working on my boat I met his eldest son, also named Jim, and got the news.
His son Jim is willing to sell the boat, said 10K obo. That would be a great deal as Jim had done a TON of work restoring the
boat. I know a lot of list members enjoyed his postings and input here. I will certainly miss him as he was very helpful
to me every time I was in Ilwaco working on my boat. He ALWAYS had some good piece of advice or way to look at something
that was very helpful. I quite bummed me out. If anyone would like to contact his son about the boat email me.
Please don't bother him with low ball deals or contracts etc. You can see all about the Tacora at tacora.org
If someone is looking to get started fishing, you would have a tough time doing better then this boat.
I can't take advantage of it as I'm eyeball deep into mine already.

Sorry to hear about Jim. He and I exchanged several PM's and his passing will leave a hole on this forum, especially his class act stories which thankfully still live on thanks to Jon's web site here. Let's hope the Tacora finds a respectable home. As with others fishers like him, he's out there on the drag in another realm. He and St. Peter are surely trading secrets and having a grand time of it.

Never met the man but I have enjoyed reading every post on this forum and his were great. Could someone PM me the details about his boat as I am starting my search in my quest for my Alaskan Dream.
And my condolences to his family and friends.

Condolences to Tacorajim's family and friends. He livened this forum up quite a bit. We had made arrangements to meet during fisher poets a couple of years ago but never got together. My loss I am sure.

It has been a pleasure to read Jim's posts on here, he will be sorely missed. Sounds like he had a colorful life, it would have been nice to have gotten to know him even better. May he troll peaceful waters forever more.
Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

WOW, Jims's gone!! Well I guess none of us are getting out of here alive, but I sure will miss his inspiration. If the Tacora is really for sale and for 10K, I'm very interested. Got the cash on hand. Anybody have any recent pics??

I just heard back from Jim Jr, he sold the boat to a crabber crewman in Ilwaco/Chinook
named Matt the day after I left Ilwaco. It's gone.
