Can you forward a few more photos to me at kenboe@comcast.net? I am especally intested in the back deck, troll set up and the engine placement. I don't understand the "side access" to the MER.

Thanks!

I think, if you rotate your computer you'll se that the Mer is located where it should be, with the cabin door to starboard facing forward.

Capt. Midnite, I took another look and clearly see the steps leading from the deck thru the cabin door to the sole of the cabin where the MER is mounted. I am a bit embarrassed that I just didn't recognize the layout as I have been in several identical boats often. A function of the brain maybe? Thanks for making me take another look. The JD seems to fit nicely where I usually see the Izusu C240. By the way, I knew a Compagno, a 1919 Seeno Boat that was at the Napa Valley Marina about seven years ago. It still had the original bronze ships bell with the dedication to the builder hanging below the flybridge and all salmon troll gear was still in place and appeared functional including the davits and the leads.

The Compagno was my boat from 1974 until 1993, when I sold the boat, the entire time I owned the boat it was kept in yacht condition. There is no way I could look at that boat now, I've heard that her condition has gone way down hill. I really makes me sad, that boat has some real history, and I know most of it, as I grew up in Monterey, carmel and followed that boat from when I was 15yrs old until I bought it. Well, now after all this time I'm looking for another one. I'm on my way to Vancouver in a couple of days to look at a couple of boats, and try to find out if I can enter either one of them into US fisheries, I get lots of conflicting info on the subject, either way I'll find myself on the right boat soon.
