Boat buyers beware of the Bertha R!

I am very familiar with this boat as two of my partners have owned this boat and I know Barton Sollars Sr. who had it for years. I first saw this boat out of the water in about 1980. I have had several meals on board this boat over the years and fished around it for many years. If you buy this boat you better be prepared for hard work. It is one of the fishiest wood boats of this size in our fleet. If you buy it you better know how to clean and handle salmon.

By all accounts it is very sea friendly and I know that little Ford Lehman Diesel is one of the quietest, fuel efficient, most dependable engines around. My old partner, Pat Wood, put a Ford Lehman in the Moonlight in part because of the success of the Ford in the Bertha R.

I am kind of glad it is moving out of our group because I am a bit tired of getting highlined by the Bertha R whoever owns it. Stephen did so well with it he has moved up to a freezer troller.

You have been warned.

I head a rumor that the Bertha R and the PT permit might be up for sale again. That boat served me well when I owner her. I know that bob has been taking good care over the past few years.
