30 foot double ender, former Bristol Bay gillnetter(back when they were sailing rigs) built in the 1930's, I'm guessing. I found the boat indoors in the shed that it had been sitting in for the last 25 years. New bowstem, replaced stringers from the back of the wheelhouse to the stern, all new deckbeams, all new bulkheads wheelhouse to the stern, reframed from the wheelhouse aft, new back deck, new bunk in focsle. All planks refastened, all seams recorked. All work exept bowstem done in 2010. Original engine was Perkins 4108 (50 HP) was seized so I bought another, running takeout from a sailboat in southern BC. It is in a shipping container at AML in Juneau as is the Velvet Drive 3:1 reduction gear. Fuel tanks were bad, so I bought two 35 gallon MONEL saddle tanks (monel is similar to stainless, but more expensive, not made much anymore). Steering was mechanical and I removed it. I have 2 hydraulic helm pumps, (not installed) 2 hydraulic rams (not installed) Vickers hydraulic pump (installed) I removed the old cable and pulley throttle and shifter and bought 2 sets of Morse controls (not installed). Bought bronze hydraulic anchor winch (not installed). Has a Neptune oil stove (solid cast iron) with a new oval carburator. Has a nice mast and boom that needs to be installed. Needs lots of instalation, needless to say. Also needs bullwarks in the stern, hatch combings, poles and a rudder. The hull is as close to perfect as wood boats get, very little salt water leakage. House is in pretty good shape with the exception of a bit of rot here and there where it meets the trunk cabin. Trunk cabin is good with the exeption of the skin, which was replaced in 2010, but I didn't seal it well enough and it bubbled up. The bow decks and side decks will need work eventually, but there are no freshwater leaks anywhere. This will be an exellent starter boat for someone and I am really sorry to see it go, but I need to be ready to fish this season and I have just bought a boat that has far more problems but is ready to fish. I am willing to part with it for a token $1500, but only to a good home. I need to be sure that the boat is going to be put together and not parted out. There are pics of the beginning of the project in the pics and movies section of the forum, but I don't know how to make the link, sorry.
