NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE

ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT



The Department of Labor and Workforce Development proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 8, Chapter 55 of the Alaska Administrative Code, regarding AS 23.35.050 dealing with commercial fishermen’s fund benefits by repealing and reenacting a section to 8 AAC 55:



1. 8 AAC 55.010(f) Allows for reimbursement of policy deductible for vessel owners of $5,000 from the Fishermen’s Fund, when a claim is filed against the vessel owner’s protection and indemnity insurance policy by a fisherman. This section also establishes the requirements needed to receive reimbursement.



You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Michael Monagle, Fishermen’s Fund, P.O. Box 111149, Juneau, AK, 99811. The comments must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 19, 2010.



Oral or written comments also may be submitted at a hearing to be held on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and might be extended to accommodate those present before 4:30 p.m. who did not have the opportunity to comment at the following locations:
