Cool cool pictures. I suppose you took them with a Nikon Cool Pix.

Katlian,

What pray tell are you referring to? Are you suggesting I have a bent pole?

Salty

2010-02-12 01:32:28

I don't think it is this one.

These don't look bent but are definitely not bow poles.

Wow,

Cool pictures. Often I try to leave the lines out but then sometimes the lines add a lot. I love the one with the blocks. Been doing a bit of rigging lately.

What happens when your not paying attention around the rockpile!

Please, nobody bother posting that I should have a line tied inside the spring to keep it from stretching out passed a certain point. It may be a good idea on some boats, but not ones the size of mine. I don't want that kind of leverage on the end of my pole, 8 dollar springs are easily replaced.

Salty~...yes, My mast, cross tree & haul-up lines are too low for proper support. So after several bent over bow poles later..this Is a solution which eventually became obviouse. It works well for now..plans are this winter to raise the cross tree & supports. When the haul-up lines are nice & tight there Is about a 4-6" sag In the line between the poles....I got lazy & did'nt adjust after a day or two of bouncy weather Is why the photo shows It being tight..thanks for the reply salty...

Wow, great composition, framing. Spent the day yesterday out deer hunting in an aluminum skiff. What a spectacular place SE Alaska is. This isn't a pole picture but it captures the day yesterday.

Wow,

What a great picture Tom. How did you get the water to curve like that?

kuiutom

2012-01-20 02:52:03

Hmmm... Not sure, Eric. I suspect the weight of all that gold at bow's end depressed the water surface in some manner. I'll have to ask daughter Lena who is solely responsible for capturing that splendid sight. Aloha.

A while back I mentioned that I had a cat, "Scout" who liked to climb out on the pole. Going through my pictures for another project, I came across this shot.

In your first pictue, is the boat nearest in the foreground, a monterey clipper? I love those lines!

It looked like a clipper bow at first but after blowing it up, I don't think so. Still a nice classic boat though.
