Hi,

I work for a company that makes training software and simulations. We are looking into making a training simulation to teach skippers how to use sonar. I was wondering if you guys might be able to answer the following question:

When you are out fishing could you describe a general workflow of how you use sonar to find fish and also how/if you use it during the deployment of your net?

Also, when you first stared using sonar were there any aspects of it that were particular challenging or difficult to understand?

Whoops, we have no net. We fish with lures, hooks, and lines. Trollers. Not trawlers.

We do use sonar, but perhaps you are barking up the wrong tree.

Most of us trollers use color Saunders with a beam of various dimensions going down. Very few of us have side or forward looking sonar.
