How many trollers fish solo?

I've done very limited commercial fishing shrimping (pots) and long lining, and understand it's absolutely a team effort. Just wondering about trolling.

Thanks!

Many trollers fish solo all season. While it is hard work and does compromise production in hot fishing it is relatively easy to set your boat up for solo production and do very well. Some trollers prefer to fish solo and never take crew.

I personally fish solo all winter and until my wife joins me in mid May. I fished dogs solo the last week which was a push on at least one day. A friend of mine caught and cleaned 450 coho solo one day last summer. I love fishing solo in a lot of ways. There is a rhythm and peace to working the lines, cleaning and icing the fish, and working the drag that puts you in touch with the elements that you can't seem to get even with the best crew-mate. The best is to be on the boat yourself, with the drag to yourself, solo-solo.
